... on Braille, maybe I will a rearguard action, though, objectively, logically reasoning closely, without a blind Braille is an illiterate, unable to access the direct reading of a document, a text, whatever. There are
speech synthesizers, it is true, but still provide a mediation, the possibility of a read only passive, which means they no longer called a reading, but listening. As at traffic lights, we all have them approved in Pordenone: simply pressing a button on the traffic light pole, the activation of the green changes the sound and cross the street. Even here, in close Logically, I find it cumbersome having to run with a remote control in hand.
We have put them in power, that is, without consulting us, the bus routes. Apart from the fact that the drivers had forgotten, more often than not, activate the GPS voice and, indeed, to be honest, have even asked for a pay rise, through bargaining, why should they carry out five more minutes of work for turn signal and wait for everything to work. But then, can you imagine a blind user in a day of rain? Purse, umbrella, stick, remote control ... and we have only two hands! Then, in some areas, more buses arrive simultaneously, then the means become difficult to intercept, amid the noise of traffic and everything else. Better would be to rationalize the stops made by an urban brain. But I realize to be utopian, because behind us are gravitating and thousands of euro, unfortunately.
In general, I think that, with regard to disability, often there is no need to do some kind of effort to empathize with the problems, if not exacerbate the common sense, which sometimes coincides with a practical sense. Maybe the example I am going to do outside on your interests, but I remember very well I learned chemistry at school with a teacher who slipped the balls (to simulate atoms) in the knitting needles, to represent the bonds between the atoms themselves, so the molecules. Recently gave me a beautiful reproduction of the greek touch made to crochet. I do not mean that we should go back to Neolithic times, but often by those who are losing sight of the practical needs, not just the disabled, but society as a whole.
Daniela.
